About Us

EzNailz began trading as a wholesale beauty supply house early in 2000. Education has always been a focal point of our business. In the past, we concentrated primarily on advanced training to qualified therapists and technicians. We quickly made the decision to offer novice training as we spent much of our advanced sessions re-training, and were strongly encouraged to do so by our salon clients who needed qualified staff.

Since then we have continually expanded our selection of courses and short courses, offering the full range of Beauty training. We are so thrilled to be contracted through the Victorian Training Guarantee Skills for Victoria program to be able to offer subsidised places for our Diploma of Beauty Therapy.

Our Team of Educators

We pride ourselves on our team of passionate educators who work hard to continue to further enhance their own education in order to stay abreast of the latest techniques and product advances, so that they can impart this knowledge to our students. We believe education should be informative, interactive, supportive and enjoyable, and our team strives to make our classes just that. Our key educators are:

Jai Harvey-Yin, our principal, has been involved in the beauty industry since 1991,and is a qualified Makeup Artist, Beauty Therapist, Nail Technician and was formerly a salon owner. She is an International Master Artist Educator for EzFlow Nail Systems USA (currently the only one in Australia), Elite International Instructor for ibd gel systems USA, Australian Education Director for Too Much Fun and Charisma Nail Innovations and is actively involved in the Australian beauty industry.

Jai has travelled extensively overseas and within Australia on the competition circuit, taking several trophies both in technical and art events. She is also an accredited Australian judge, and regularly represents Australia internationally judging such events as The Nail Olympics in Las Vegas and London, as well as other national and international events. She travels regularly to teach and attend workshops at trade shows and educational events again nationally and internationally. She has been published in trade magazines such as Nails Magazine USA, Nailpro Magazine USA, Scratch Magazine UK (where she is part of the Expert Panel) and the International Beauty Business & Professional Beauty in Australia.

Carly Treloar has been involved in the beauty industry for many years, and brings to EzNailz her practical experience in Beauty Therapy with a specialist knowledge in Aromatherapy and Spa Therapies. She has recently moved back to Melbourne after owning a successful Day Spa in Tasmania. Carly joins the team as a full time staff member in 2007, and brings her knowledge and organisational skills and drive to train the best beauty therapists in Melbourne!

Kim Mavrogiannis joined our education team in 2008 but was trained by us in early 2000 and brings her energy, enthusiasm and skill to our nail department. Kim's experience in the nail and beauty industry has been broad, from home-based businesses, as an employee, and her own business based in up-market Templestowe. Her passion is customer service, retail and creating structurally sound enhancements, and she looks forward to sharing her knowledge with her students.

Elizabeth Velkos joins our education team in 2010 and hopes to help our students "find their strengths to develp themselves, qualifying with an excellent foundation of knowledge and confidence" - ideals that we embrace at EzNailz. With over 13 years in the industry, Elizabeth brings her wealth of expertise not only in all aspects of Beauty Therapy and Electrolysis, but also in her wellness background in such things as Chinese Accupressure, Lomi Lomi Massage, Reflexology and Chinese Face Diagnosis.

But wait there is more! We also involve specialist guest educators from time to time, both international and national experts.

* Our team of educators are passionate not only about the beauty industry, but also about sharing this knowledge with others - this means you!

* Our hygienic, modern training facility provides you with a safe, salon-style environment to complete your training, and experience in a working salon set up for the benefit of our students. Our three beautiful new classrooms built early in 2007 are the perfect place to complete your training.

* We offer classes conveniently during the daytime and evening, usually during traditional school terms. The training allows adequate time to gain competency, and allows students to be in regular contact with teaching staff for advice and guidance, whilst still learning and gaining necessary confidence and experience.

* To ensure teaching quality and personal attention is at a maximum, practical class sizes are limited to a maximum of 12 students, though generally we have class sizes between 6 and 8 students. This ensures that you get the attention that you not only deserve but you are paying for!

* We use only top quality salon professional brands in our training! We firmly believe that it is a dis-service to our students to train with cheap and/or inferior products, so we don't - we only use the best: Charisma Nail Innovations, Creative Nail Design, ibd & EzFlow nail products, Caron, Mancine & Lycon waxes, Nat Skin & Body and Bioelements Professional Skin Care for our skin & body care products.

* In all our courses, you receive a kit for your use during class and at home also. We believe that it is a necessary part of the course to be able to practice at home, especially since our classes are very streamlined and offer the benefits of flexible delivery. We also supply a uniform and apron to wear in class, which makes preparing for class a breeze!

* Finally, we genuninely do care and trust that our students go forth and are successful and happy in their new chosen career, and of course from there recommend us to their friends, family and work colleagues!
